So the news broke a while back about Oliver North being the new President of the NRA. Here is is my take on this…Is Oliver North the best leader on gun rights, and is he the one who is going to take us to the promised land? I don’t honestly know the answer to that. I have never met the man and I don’t know his leadership style and how he will do in this position. I wasn’t sitting at the table for the job interview.
What I don’t like is how he looks on paper… Apparently, he supported the so called assault weapons ban back in the day, and he may very well be a prohibited person (at least you could make the reasonable argument that he is to the low information voter and the drive by media would certainly run with it)
Those two things don’t look good on the old Resume for someone looking to be NRA president. It certainly seems that supporting an ‘assault weapons’ ban should be an immediate disqualification, but here we are.
What say you? Is this bad for our side to have this guy as the head honcho? Do you support Oliver North being NRA president? There is also a poll right now over at The Gun Feed asking this same question.
I personally don’t like it. Time will tell how this will all play out.
