Army Master Sgt. Christopher “C.J.” Grisham was fined $2,000,  the maximum fine allowed under the statute. However, he won’t have to serve time in jail.

While waiting for the jury to return with the sentence, Grisham said he plans to appeal his conviction and he contacted the National Rifle Association about securing funds for his legal defense.
