Alternate Headline: We must ban hernias!
A great, must read, article came across the Gunnie News Nets today that I needed to comment on…
This Article dissects the fraudulent talking point of the gun grabbers that ‘guns kill 32,000 people each year! We must ban guns!’
While gun control advocates always quote the 32,000 number, it includes all justifiable shootings by every law enforcement agency at the local, state and federal level, plus every citizens’ use of firearms in self-defense. These are not instances that contribute to gun violence in America and rightfully should be subtracted from the annual total.
The numbers have also been inflated because suicides by firearms are included. In America, people determined to end their lives will opt to use a gun 50 percent of the time. What cannot be shown statistically is how many would use other means if a gun were not readily accessible.
However, when surveyed, two-thirds of professional mental health care givers say those intent on suicide will follow through whether or not a firearm is available.
So here’s your second paradigm shift: Eliminating guns will not likely reduce suicides to any measurable extent, so that number must be rightfully subtracted from the annual total.
So if we discount justifiable shootings, suicides and accidents, what is the actual body count for gun violence in America? Chop 32,000 by two-thirds and arrive at 11,000. Two questions must then be asked: Of the 11,000, who’s being killed and who’s doing the killing?
Eighty percent is attributed to gangbangers.
All the hubbub must be about the remaining 2,000 annual deaths — about the same number lost each year to hernias.
Count em! A whopping 2,000 people!
Now lets put that into perspective… The U.S. Population right now is about 323,000,000 people.
Math: 2,000 divided by 323,000,000 equals 0.00000619% of the population.
Its ridiculous. I have dissected this before with Feinstein’s gun control bill and the number is even lower if you use the gun grabber’s own numbers… only about 665 lives saved.
Yep! We must ban hernias!
