I was in Target the other day and found myself a pretty cool little LED flashlight. The Life Gear micro flashlight is very similar to the Streamlight Nano. Pretty much the same exact concept, but this one cost me a grand total of only $3. Nice!
Just like the Streamlight, Life Gear micro flashlight has a twist on means of operation. The flashlight measures in at 1.5 inches tall. Its is made of aluminum and has a clasp to allow you to hook this onto your key ring or your gear. It runs on 4 LR41 button cell batteries (included).
The light puts out 8 lumens which is nicely diffused. It will pretty much allow you to light up and navigate any room the size of one typically found in most homes. At 8 lumens its not what I would call a bright flashlight, but its definitely bright enough to for close up work. I’d actually call it darn near perfect for those type of applications.
That little gold thing that you see attached to the light is what they call a battery compartment “key”. It does the job just fine, but dont worry, even if you lose it you can still get the compartment open with a pair of needle nose pliers or any other similar devise. I actually took it off the flashlight and threw it away.
Construction of this flashlight is pretty good. I dont really think it would be combat worthy, but its certainly going to perform great on my camping trips and as an extra small flashlight to keep in my range bag. Its also o-ring sealed.
I like this flashlight a lot… and I’m really glad that I found it.
