Yeah, thats the problem with crap sandwiches that get rushed through without proper consideration. Senator Phil Boyle (R-Bay Shore) admitted on Friday that voting for Gov. Cuomo’s SAFE Act was a mistake.
“We owe it to our constituents to start over and give fair and open consideration to the issues of public safety and Second Amendment rights. While several provisions of the NY SAFE Act were well intentioned, it is evident now that the law violates the Second Amendment while not providing the right measures to protect against another tragedy like Newtown”
Look, I am glad that he is seeing the light of day, but this is still political malpractice. If you voted for something like this piece of crap legislation and either didnt know what it was or knowingly tried to undermine the constitutional rights of your constituents, then either way you should be run out of office. IMHO, I think it is the latter, and now that he has heard the voice of the people he is trying desperately to hang onto his job.
And that right there is the major underlying problem with career politicians. At the end of the day, all they really care about is their job. They dont make decisions based on what is in the best interest of the country/state… they make decisions based on whats in the best interest of their careers. This is why we need strict (and short) term limits on ALL politicians up and down the ladder. And this two-faced clown by the name of Senator Phil Boyle needs to go.
