Marine Convicted of Smuggling Gun From Saddam Palace

The Press Enterprise is reporting that former Staff Sgt. Joel Cleve Miller, 40, was found guilty of possession of an illegal chrome AK-47 that he smuggled back from Iraq during a 14-month tour in 2005. He was given 20 years.

 

I’m not saying that he should have done it, but I understand why:

  1. From The Marine Corps Times: “Miller was initially accused of possessing and selling another machine gun but was acquitted on those charges.

    He faces up to 10 years in prison at his sentencing scheduled for Sept. 27.”
